Goodmans Speakers. Any Good?
I just scored a Marshall 8x10 that has 10" Goodmans speakers.
I'm not familiar with Goodmans. Can anyone comment on these speakers?
Thanks

You have them, what do you think of them?
I understand the Goodmans 12's were found occasionally in Vox AC-30's and were considered to be good speakers. Don't know much about them as they are kind of rare in the USA. Actually, come to think of it - I have a reconed Goodmans 12 here that I have never listened to. It sure looks cool though.

Book Of The Day The Ultimate Tone, Volume III by Kevin O'Connor
Have you ever wondered if there is a better way to build a Bassman, Champ, Plexi, an 800, AC-30, Bulldog or Portaflex? Or you wanted to build an SVT with off-the-shelf parts? How about a master-volume amp that doesn’t change tone with the master setting? Everything you need to know is right here, including: proper grounding techniques, wiring methods, and mechanical considerations. Eighteen chapters cover the “iconic” amps everyone knows and loves, with schematics and layouts for each, along with the technical history of the product. Eyelet-board and chassis-mounted tube socket construction is used throughout, for easy servicing and modding. TUT3 is very accessible even if you cannot fully read a schematic and is a "must have" if you are going to build an amp for your self.

Haven't taken delivery of the cab yet so I can't say how they sound.
Does anyone have experience with Goodmans 10's?
Thanks

During the 70s I had a nice old Marshall 4x12" which had great sounding 12" Goodmans built in, swapped it later for a SF Twin with blown JBLs.12" Goodmans had a big tone, good low end, nice mids and great sparkle, I think they were 50W rated, stronger than those standard 25W Rola Celestions.
