Transformer ? I'm designing a tube bass and and have a question... I'm shooting for about 550-600V from the solid state recifier. I'm looking at the Hammond 724, Will this PT work here? What are some other options? I'll be running 4 7027As or 6550As and 3 or 4 preamp tubes... |

A 724 will give over 1000V with cap input. Might work fine if you're building a 211 amp. Go straight for the 278CX (US) or 378CX for universal primary. Kevin O'Connor's book "Principals of Power" has plenty of design examples that should interest you. His website is londonpower.com . It's not an inexpensive book but, you won't regret buying it. |
