|Allen||Fender Super Twin|
Anyone have any suggestions on improvements to a 1975 Super Twin?
It is an ultralinear output stage and sounds kinda crummy. Probably would be a good bass amp with those six 6l6's.

The consensus approach is to start by un-hooking the negative feedback loop and letting the UL do its thing. That comes down to removing a wire or a resistor. See how it sounds, and come back for more advice if it's not effective. People do use them for bass amps.

Thanks for the tip. Will try it when the opportunity presents itself. Let you know then.

i'll definitely echo the NFB removal... i'd also suggest dropping down to two (or four) 6l6's (adjust impedance ratios accordingly)... get rid of the tone sucking caps on the power tube plates, and i bet you could tweak the PI a bit (either blackface it or just tweaking yourself).
