||Jim Kelley power attenuator problems|
A friend has a circa-1985 Jim Kelley amp that he can't
get fixed. He describes to me that the power attenuator
goes from almost no volume to almost full volume with
no stops between.
He tells me that a power attenuator has been part of the
amp's design from day one, I guess not unlike a Marshall
PowerSoak. I haven't seen the amp in several years; I'll
invite him to supply additional details.
Has anybody seen an amp like this ? Any ideas ? Thanks
for any help available

I had an amp like this for a while, but someone fried the power attenuator when the OT blew There is a schematic in the Groove Tubes Book that shows the schematic for the power attenuator.
Hope this helps,
