Now that was very interesting!
So I gather that to really get a handle on the AC resistance figures and what they mean, I have to compare whatever result I get to the DCR of the pickup, and a greater spread would mean lots of eddy currents in the pickup as compared to a smaller spread being less eddy currents, and all at whatever frequency is being measured. Although it sounds you said the slope of that eddy current loss would be the same except for around the resonent peak for the most part?
As an example, a RIC humbucker I have has a DCR of around 12k, and an ACR of around 19k. Would this be considered lots or little eddy currents in the design? The pickup uses samarium cobalt magnets and is very powerful and bright. I can't recall what the inductance is at the moment but I can look at my figures and see if you want to know. I also want to compare this to the typical spread on a Strat pickup and see where they lie.
