Copper will plate but it won't stick without a nickel coat underneath it. I think that Caswell company has a patented solution that will do copper plating in one operation, which is pretty cool. Believe me I researched this a year ago and decided it was too expensive and time consuming to do for low production. To get into plating you have to spend money on a rectifier setup etc. so it turns into another time wasting deal and another "learning curve". Cheaper to buy them or if you live in China have them made for cheap.
