John, In the AA270 Twin Reverb reverb driver stage, any halfway-reasonable grid resistor value (i.e., not a dead short to ground) won't affect the gain of that stage at all. It can, however, load down and reduce the output level of the preceding stage if you decrease it substantially from the stock 1M value (increasing it will make little or no difference). You can try replacing the tremolo 'roach' if the tremolo effect has decreased from what it used to be. I'm really not familiar with the silverface Twin's tremolo circuit, if it's different from the AA270's. Ray |
