novosibir![]() | Re: cathode bypass caps Maybe that I'm wrong with my post, because I'm sure, that you all know that phenomen, that you've done a tweak to an amp, that sounds better than the other tweak before. But the next day or only 3 hours later you're playing the amp again - and now the previous tweak sounds better - one day later it's different again... I'd experienced, that a 250µ or a 330µ cap doesn't give you more bass response than a 25µ cap - but it gives you another feel while playing. It's hard to describe it exactly, but it seems to me, that the notes appear a bit "slower" with the bigger caps. The playing feel is not so much sensitive, it's more kinda indolence of the tone, what happens with the bigger caps. |
