The RCA Receiving Tube Manual RC-30 doesn't distinguish between the 6CA7 and the EL34. AFIK they're the same tube spec-wise but a good ear may hear differences. My Traynor YBA-1A runs pretty high voltage on the plate but the 6CA7 tubes I used through the years tended to last much longer there than the 6L6's in my Bassman. Maybe it's just me.
