I remember the CDS being really close if not identical. I'm not as familiar with the CDS. Only worked on two Supremes a long time ago.
It's on the web somewhere. It's fixed in the amp. The plug-in module only has a distortion amount control.

Filter caps will have little to do with the subtlties of distortion. The Beatles massaged their tone in the mix. A lot. Some of their distortions are just the guitar into the board, and the board set up to overdrive, I've heard.
Distortion sounds are funny. The EQ *before* and after the clipping can make more difference than the actual clipping. You might be better served using the Vox distortion booster circuit but with some EQ ahead and behind it. I like the seven band graphic EQs as a before and after. These are usually a dime a dozen in pawn shops, and you get two channels, one for before, one for after.
