Wild Bill![]() | Re: Transients in Tube Amps I find that plate voltage is a big factor, Jack. Higher voltages increase the transient response and quicken up the pickin'. Lower voltages make notes slower and thicker. It's almost a British/American voice thing, like with the Eminence Patriot/Red Coat speaker voicings. The early Marshalls tended to have higher plate voltages, especially on the preamp plates than the traditional Fender values. Probably a factor... Just some thoughts... ---Wild Bill |
