The 6AN8A is very similar to the 7199, and was used in Dynaco and Sunn amps with the pentode as a gain stage and the triode as a split load phase inverter. They work great, are cheap and plentiful for NOS, and are probably better for audio than the 7199. I would use one of them instead of the 7199 personally. Check out the Sunn 200S, 2000S, and Dynaco Mark 3 schematics. Greg
