|Maccabee||Re: Which cathode resistor for 6L6 Champ?|
I just built what I call a Thunderchamp for my daughter and it runs 6V6/6L6/EL34 Tubes. Basically a Beefed Up 5F1 Circuit with a Spitfire Front end and a Master Volume to keep her mom happy. I use a 470/5 as the main RX and parallel a 1K/5 on a Switch that gives about 320 ohms when combined. B+ with with a Hammond 270DAX/SS Recto is 375 with a 6V6 at Low Power (470 Ohm RX) and 370 with a JJ EL34L at High Power (320 Ohm RX.) I haven't tried a
6L6 in it yet (out of em) but I imagine the B+ will be right in between.
