I think that Mike Clark does a superb job wiring his amps. A bit neater than Victoria, judging by the Double Deluxe photos on Ebay.
He just lowered his prices. His Beaufort amp, which is his 5E3 replica, used to go for $1535, and I noticed yesterday that the price for that amp dropped to $1195. That's $340!
I bought a 5E3 kit from him a while ago, minus the speaker. He sent me photos of one of his 5E3s, and I copied the wiring layout. If you want the quality of a Clark 5E3, with Allen Bradley resistors, Jensen caps, etc., and you want to save a few bucks, that might be a decent route to take. It'll cost a lot more than a Mission amp though, so you have to decide for yourself if it's worth it.
I'm a big fan of Mike Clark's stuff. I don't know if the Jensen caps might have something to do with it. I just finished a 5F1 replica which he sent me, and I have a 5F6a kit on order. It all rocks.
