|Regis||Re: light bulb protection for P.A. horn driver?|
Update: I bought and installed a Behringer Feedback eliminator and a stereo 15 band eq. The hookup is:
Pre out -> Behringer -> Eq -> Power in.
The powered mixer has a Monitor send section, which I will run in a similar fashion.
I went to the auto parts store and bought bulbs and sockets and installed them after the crossover in series on the hot side.
The Behringer works very well, although the manual isn't very good. I was able to get a lot more headroom with it, and without the eq engaged. I used Enzo's advice and stayed away from the "smiley". Instead I dropped the low end below 160 hz, and did some minor drops in the high end to help the Behringer. It is working a lot better, at least at band practice. I agree more power would help, but for now I have to work with what I have. Our gig is in two weeks, I'll let y'all know how it goes.
Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions.
