Well now there's the rub - there is no buffered output in the Dyna-Comp unless it's switched on. The output jack connects directly to the input jack in the bypass mode. Only the input to the Dyna-Comp is connected in bypass mode, and it has a high impedance buffer (emitter follower) which makes it virtually invisible to the guitar or amp.
