Townsend also was an admirer and had West play on Who's Next. But to me Leslie's sound is more from his picking technique than his guitar. He picks up by the neck for that nice FAT tone. The best reference I can think of is the Aerosmith Live version of Train Kept a Rollin. I presume that is Joe Perry.
