m howson | 6AV6 vs 12AX7 I thought that a 6av6 tube was pretty much half a 12ax7 aside from the diode the 6av6 also includes. I tried using them in a recent project because I have a sh-- load of them but was disappointed with the results. They seem to have less clean headroom than 12ax7s. Anyone have experience with these tubes they can share? Thanks...M |
