But you noticed that the hiss disappeared when you turned the clean channel volume down, that suggests the clean channel is very noisy. The clean channel should be quieter than the OD channel because it has less gain! It sounds as if your clean channel has a problem, perhaps you have a bad tube, bad resistor, or parasitic oscillations. |
