Chris W sent me a snippet from a schematic showing how 3 different output tubes were used in a single amp... you need to check the wiring to make sure that there are not any extra loads to ground when the other tube is not plugged in. Or wire up a multi-section switch so that you can toggle between the two tubes. The impedances that the OT sees will not be optimum for both tubes... sometimes you can juggle things around and use the 16 ohm OT tap for one tube and the 8 ohm tap for the other to reduce the impedance mismatch.
Has anybody had any success with a stepdown transformer to plug a 120vac amp into 230vac? Or do you travel around where the voltages are even stranger?
