Chris B | Re: 9pin pentodes as preamp tubes You could use a 6KT8. It has one pentode and one triode in a 9-pin package. You can use the triode for a tremolo or leave it disconnected. I don't know about pricing or availability though. 6AT8, 6AU8, 6BA8-A, 6BH8, 6BR8, 6BY8, 6CH8, 6AW8 are similar, while the 12BY7-A and the 12BV7 are sharp cutoff pentodes. Hope this helps Chris B |
