Re: Warming up Reverberocket RI-correction
let me hop in here briefly....
i have visited ampeg/ st. louis music for our research on AMPEG: THE STORY BEHIND THE SOUND (Hal Leonard publ., 1999) -- and it is NOT true that the modern ampeg RI and other current ampeg amps are simply crate amps with ampeg covering.
in fact, ampeg amps and cabinets are made in the st. louis, MO, plant -- while crate amps are made at another factory out of state.
in addition, ampeg was not trying to recreate the old ampeg amps electronically--but just to offer the old "look" with modern tone palette. (but i wish they'd tried for the vintage ampeg sound!)
also, ampeg and crate have different technical/design staffs--and the two brands compete with each other under the st. louis music umbrella.
hope this helps.please see our book for more details. :)
