Dynaco MKIII as a Guitar Amp?
One of my two Dynaco MKIII's just vented its filtercaps and fried the output transformer. I still have one good one (needing a cap job) and was wondering if anyone has ever used a Dynaco (WITH PREAMP) as a guitar amp. I notice that old Sunn amp power sections look amazingly like Dynacos and even use the same transformers. Any thoughts?
If I were to build a preamp for this guy, does anybody know how much heater current I would have to drive preamp tubes?
