Probably doesn't matter in this application, but you should be able to drive the load of the power tube(s) with less problems due to slew limiting. (You will deliver more current to a reactive load.) This can be a problem with two pair of output tubes, particularly, because their capacitance adds.
I have seen asymmetry driving EL84's with a 12AT7 section in a cathodyne (anode and cathode follower p.i.).
