Some amplifier bias supplies are coupled to the HV secondary with capacitors, instead of a shunt resistive voltage divider. A cooling fan's speed accuracy isn't a concern, just that we can slow it down for quieter operation. And the bias supply only needs a small cap, less than 1uf, to do the job. I just didn't think the high current, low voltage drop arena was a practical one.
