    So do you eat out often? I can't see spending all of that money in a fancy restaurant for something that is here today and (hopefully) gone tommorrow... or on a $300 boutique pedal! As you pointed out, it is not the question of whether or not you have the money, but whether you really want to spend it on something that you could build yourself at a fraction of the price...

P.S. Your figure of $60 is probably accurate if you include a decent enclosure and high quality pots and switches. But for just breadboarding a circuit to see how it sounds, I bet you could copy most of the $300 boutique pedals for $15 or $20... You'd probably spend more for the 9 volt battery than any of the individual components!
