You are the first person to tell me this, but it makes sense. If I use the resistor, isn't there still going to be some electricity in the caps waiting to get out? After all, all there are plates connected to ground in the amp through resistors, and the caps still have charge. The way that Weber suggests draining the caps is to connect the lead to a plate of a preamp tube, which would probably have a 100k resistor in series between it and the power supply, anyway. Then he says to go to the plate of a power tube, where you are going to get the unadulterated drain. That's probably better advice. Sorry, I'm no EE, just a regular dude. Andy
