Dave: if you took a picture of all those jazzmaster parts and put them on Ebay you'd probably get a pile of cash for them never underestimate the vintage value of old parts no matter the shape they are in, you'd be surprised......

Oh I know! I've actually been selling off old parts on eBay. I have hoarded... eh, collected parts for the past 30 years... just because I never seem to throw anything away! I have a 1980 Carvin DC-150 on there right now. It's missing a bunch of parts.

The funniest one was getting more then I paid for on a Russian made Big Muff that was only maybe 8 years old.

I wouldn't mind restoring the Jazzmaster, but I have to find all the parts and the time... as it is I have two 72 Rick basses I want to get back in working condition. I had one of them since it was new.

In a band I was in back in the 80's, the guitarist had a nice candy-apple red Jazzmaster. His other guitar was a Firebird with p-90s, and he liked that sound better. So I took a 70's P-90 from an SG I had, and removed the screw poles, and using a small file, widened the holes so I could get them to Fender's spacing. Then I put the P-90 back together in the Jazzmaster cover. That guitar sounded great!

I like the Jazzmaster's basic tone, but I want more
P90 type mids too. I'm going to try making a 'hybrid', I have a couple of ideas.
