Fat strat setup Issues?
Hi

So I have made a set of REALLY rudimentary pickups! But I am concerned about some winding direction issues that I have no idea about!

The neck single is wound CCW, the middle CW, and the bridge humbucker is wound CCW for the split coil. I know that I will have RWRP when the humbucker is split and combined witht the mid single, but when I try to combine the HB when 'full on' (not split) and the mid single coil, will I get an out of phase tone?

I know that a HB is RWRP within itself, but not really sure how it will work when combined with a middle position single coil? Can it ever be noise cancelling? I have my neck magnets north, my mid south, and my bridge split coil is North, so I think my magnet layout is fine, but am really confused on the 4 position when I use the HB 'full on'! Thanks for any help if you can!

Hi, should be fine like you have it. If the middle is south and the inside coil is north it should work.

Inside coil being the one that gets hot when the coils split, right? I have this as my screw coil which is closest to the bridge, I believe.
Thanks!

Ok, which side of the humbucker is the north side of the bar magnet pointing to, screw or slug? If i'm right here, the slug side needs to be the side with north polarity, also the slug coil would need to be the hot one when split to keep everything in phase. I may be wrong but thats how I do a hum, single, single setup. Humbucker with north pointing to slug side, slug side hot when split, middle single reverse wound, reverse polarity, neck single north polarity.
