Re: Superglue & shellac potting? As long as you're talking other than Wax for potting, there was a guitar thread a while back about using rubber cement instead of wax. Does that work? Would you just brush it over the coils? Or is it a bad idea. Thanks, Tim F |

| Dave Stephens | Rubber cement isn't a great idea. Being a graphic designer with 30 years of hell behind me, we used to use rubber cement for paste ups in the early days. Rubber cement does weird things when it gets old, it can get gooey and sticky in the right environment, it could bond to your pickup covers if it contacts it over time and rip your coil up when you remove the cover. |
