||Re: homade winder blueprints wanted|
O.K. - you won't build this but...
I'm busy with a programmable winder with a "learn" function that should replicate hand winding patterns for consistency in duplicating pickups.
I plan to run this on an old BBC computer then swing the software across onto a P.C.
The software is written in my head, I have a stepper motor and just need some of that mojo they call time.
I'll keep you posted.

Just saw this on Ebay.
There is a mention of "The Book" in the text. It sure looks like Jason's design to me but for some reason he doesn't give credit.

I guess if you only wanted to do 1 pickup a week that might be a good idea. Pretty handy and a good amount of imagination went into that little winder. I think its cool someone would put that thing together. :0

First winder i made was made from a lego set. That was 26 or 27 years ago and i still had it about 7 years ago when I threw it out during a shop clean up otherwise it could still be working today.

thats too funny....maybe the guy who put it on the web got his inspiration from you..I guess technicly all you need is something that turns... and some wire.
