anonymous pickup parts in greatest demand / short supply?
Hello everyone....

I don't know if this has been covered or not, but what pick up parts (single coil, humbucker, mini humbucker, etc) are in greatest demand and / or in shortest supply?

Thanks...

Good quality F-spaced humbucker parts.

High quality humbucker parts, pole screws, nickel base plates. Tele base plates, correctly drilled with only 3 holes 6-32 threads. Mini humbucker parts, Filterton parts, affordable undrilled humbucker covers and or drilled for single coil useage (6 holes in the middle). Punched (not laser cut) strat and tele Forbon flatwork, correctly punched for 3/16" magnets that fit nice and snug into them at a cheap wholesale price, I can probably think of more but thats what I'd like to see. Plain enamel wire at offshore prices kept in stock and available without long waits, 42 and 43 gauge (not from China). Vintage cloth covered push back wire in larger spools than Stew Mac's stuff and at real wholesale prices. Same for the push back shieled braided Gibson style wire. Why are you giving Xmas gifts this year? Dave

Very possibly, indeed.

There have been some interesting changes going on in the larger pickup makers world that will now make widespread parts availability for the smaller pickup maker (and anyone else) a reality. Although that can also be a double-edged sword.

Sorry for the cryptic response, but the dust from the fracas hasn't settled yet. When it does, all will be told.

IF ANYONE ELSE has input as to what parts are in great demand, please let me know via this forum. I cannot stress strongly enough that NOW is the time to make your thoughts clearly known....

Another would be lipstick pickup parts. No one I can think of has access to those.

I would really like to have someone make me some mini-hums. I am using the Kent Armstrongs but I know there can be something better. The Duncan's aren't that good and Lollar's are $150 each...and not a custom wind. So.....I would say mini-hums, I think more people would use them in the neck position if there were more around. They don't know what they are missing.

I would also love to get prebuilt strat and tele bobbins but maybe thats asking for too much as I would probably want magnet heights custom stagger. Yes on the lipstick tube thing. And yes if what you're saying is true it could be bad in a way. Still, anyone can buy pickup parts from StewMac and AllParts and screw around with them. I don't think there are that many pickup hobbyists out there, could be wrong though. I think it would benefit the smaller companies like me who don't have the cash or access to the less popular pickup parts now, and there just aren't many parts companies at all that I even know about or will deal with me unless I fork over $250 minimum orders for ONE part. .
