| Al B | Texas special pickups ohmage I have a chanch to buy a set of used Texas special pups. I checked the ohms of each one and they are 5.78k, 5.82k and 5.92k. The middle one is reverse wound. Are these numbers in the ballpark? Any help is appreciated. |

Specs off Fender's website are: 6.2K Neck, 6.5K Middle, 7.6K Bridge. Your readings sound way too low for Texas Specials I'm afraid. |

| Mark Hammer | Before accusations of fraud start flying, might be a good idea to verify that the battery in your meter is fresh, and the readings valid. Always good, I suppose, to carry around a 1% resistor of known value to verify that what you read is what you get. |

| Dwight Listmayer | Well I wouldn't interfere with what's been said, but are we sure these are even Texas Specials? They usually bear the Custom Shop sticker (but not always) like Custom Shop 69's which have exclusively grey bobbins and the readings as quoted. Also, 57/62's are in that range 5.6K, give or take, usually "give" a little ohmage. Strat man Dwight |

| Mark Hammer | I think you're likely right, but I'd hate for any animosity to accidentally develop between buyer and seller simply because of meter drift. |
