Steve B. Gas prices on the rise, Bush help his buddies get rich !
I heard on TV that the white house is going to do a study to see if Americans can afford $4.00 a gallon of gas. Seems its close to $3.00 in other parts of the country already.

I guess Bush is trying to see if WE all are going to pay more and bend over without vasolene and NOT complain while the OI rapes us more so these greedy bastards can get even MORE RICH!

Ever since BUSH has been in office, the country has been paying more for EVERYTHING! Lots more! And this sure aint from when Clinton was running the show!

Now gas may go to $4.00 a gallon? Seems the middle class is getting more close to the poor class even quicker than expected! Where does this maddness end?

My rant for the day!!!

PISSED OFF Steve

There's nothing new about economic impact studies being performed about the rising cost of commodities. In fact, one should be surprised if this is the first time that a $4.00/gallon impact study were performed by any administration occupying the White House. If those guys have any sense, they've performed and reperformed those studies many, many times.

I remember reading in Al Gore's book that he was an advocate of raising the taxes on gas, which was well below $1.50/gallon, to take the price up near $4.00/gallon. The idea that was the taxes could be spent for "good use" and that Americans could afford it because Europeans do. What a surprise -- politicians like to add consumption taxes to fund their projects.

Even so, this isn't a democrat vs. republican issue.

The recent rise in gas prices, like prices for other commodities, has been caused by increased demand as China evolves into an industrial economy. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that increasing global demand for a finite quantity of resources will result in a rise in the commodity price.

The rising commodity prices have further been pushed upward in the short term by speculators in the market.

The biggest cause for concern is that the oil exploration and infrastructure industry has been maintained on a model that was designed to produce oil at a rate that did not forsee an explosion in demand from China. As a result of the current supply pressures, many are speculating that we've crossed over the top of the Hubbert Peak (google search term) on the oil extraction curve -- namely, we've reached worldwide peak produciton capacity, and global production capacity can only decrease in the future, creating further upward pressure on commodity prices.

I can understand why you are fuming mad, but I think that your aggression is being displaced.

Well, I'd rather he rant on line than go into a shopping mall loaded up with guns and ammo.

Bush has said numerous times that Americans will not and should not have their standard of living compromised. We'll see.

I think $300 billion would have been a great down payment on creating alternative, renewable energy. By looking down the road a few decades, Bush is able to somehow claim that he is being responsible by addressing a future problem now. Where is this attitude regarding medicare, medicaid and energy?

Unless we start addressing the more immediate problems at hand, SSI and oil prices will be the least of our concerns.

The current prices of gas aren't really due to Bush, but he IS shortchanging America's future by relaxing the demands on automakers to increase efficiency, and underfunding(ideologically as well as financially) the developement for alternative fuel sources. The forecast for the future is kinda bleak when our elected leader's answer to the foreseen energy problems is "Drill for MORE! Its right there in the ground waiting for us!"

The Canadian tar sands out west have more reserves for crude than all of Saudi Arabia.

For years we heard that they weren't being developed because the price of oil had to exceed 25U$/barrel to be profitable.

Well, we're double that now yet there's little in the media about those domestic tar sards.

Something seems odd...

Steve B.
Yesterday there was a explosion at the Texas City refinery called BP and right as they were showing the damage at the refinery only one hour after this exposion happened the oil company said on TV that this will cause oil and gas to go even higher now in cost.

These oil monging greedy bastards use this as another fucking excuse to gank us all in the ass for more cash into thier bank accounts while we ALL go broke!

This wouldn't happen if we had a Democrat in office, but being Bush is there he lets these CEO oil assholes do this to the American public and get away with it!

Rich for the rich and fuck the middle class and poor. Thats how they treat us....Why is this so obvious to me but not to others???
