we're outta here (raging flamebait rant)

Emperor Norton we're outta here (raging flamebait rant)
Fuck all the ignorant idiots who can't tell a soundbyte from a megabyte - friggin' sheep who sway with the political wind like the wheat and genetically modified corn in their fields; idiots who claim a national healthcare system is socialist or communist (as though these were the same) as they go cash their fucking farm/cattle welfare, I mean, subsidy checks.

They proved what Hitler said years ago. Tell a big lie often enough and the populace will come to believe it. Oh yeah, John Kerry is a flip-flopper. Even had the gimmicky iconic sandals to burn the image into the feeble minded foxnews/cnn junkies.

You know what they call people who say the same things over and over and have difficulty incorporating and processing new information? At the extreme it's not "forthright, resolve" it's freaking AUTISM. Rainman just got elected for another four years.

Security? Yeah, like y'all in Nebraska have anything to worry about from terrorists. Look at the election results. All of the states which would be the most likely targets voted for Kerry.

Jobs? Yep, I'm sure you're all just happy as clams that you make $2 above minimum wage. Dubya's doin' a terrific job.

War in Iraq? Oh my God. Don't even get me started. Kerry may not have had the best solution, but at least he would look for one, instead of just "having faith" it'll all work out.

Fuck 'em. We're outta here... http://www.californiasecession.org/

The world thinks Americans are idiots, and they're right.

Americans think Californians are arrogant assholes, and they're probably right too. You're better off without us then. Keep yer mullets, light beer, Wallmart, eminem, kid rock, nascar, and handguns to yourselves.

The nation of Pacifica will exist within the lifetime of any of the poor bastards who will be drafted within the next four years (assuming they survive their multiple tours). Consisting of California, Oregon, Washington, and the useful parts of Nevada, Pacifica will no longer be associated with the ignorant fundamentalist idiocy of the midwest bible belt, the good-ole-boy mentaility of Texas and the South, or the old-money elite of New England. California alone has the fifth largest economy on the planet, add Washington's Microsoft and consider the immediate nuke capacity (Lawrence Livermore Labs, Lockheed, Westinghouse, etc.) and suddenly the rest of the US seems like so much dead weight.

Sour grapes? You bet.

Oh what a curse to have a brain in a land ruled by idiots. I feel your pain, Emp. I really do.

It's a beautiful dream, but realistically, do you think that the US corporotocracy is going to allow one of its greatest sources of wealth to leave? Taking, incidentally, all of its Pacific ports with it.

Did you read the part about the nukes? ;) Odds are good we know where all the silos in Kansas and Nebraska are.

Physically the west coast is isolated by a lot of mountains and desert. Most of the passes are easily monitored or destroyed. Having Oregon and Washington would help to prevent easy access to the Pacific making it difficult to quickly enact any blockade.

The new nation would still include states but the new republic would give them the attention and representation they've desired for some time. Cascadia would be comprised of Washington and northern Oregon southward to include Portland, Salem, and Bend. Jefferson State (http://www.jeffersonstate.com) would extend from the southern border of Cascadia to the northern geographical boundary of the Central Valley, possibly including Red Bluff at it's southernmost extent. Northern California would extend southward to just below the 36th parallel - the existing boundary between Monterey, King's, and Tulare counties in the north and San Luis Obispo and Kern counties in the south It's eastern boundary would be the apex of the Sierra Nevada and include the Tahoe area and Reno. Southern California would then include the rest of the southern coast (San Luis Obispo Co. and southward) and include the Owens Valley (Eastern Sierra - Inyo and Mono counties) to Mammoth and Mono Lake. It would include Las Vegas and Lake Mead, and hence maintain control of Hoover Dam.

Certainly there would be differences even between these entities, but they would each have proportionately more say and have more in common with this entire "nation" than with the rest of the current U.S.

Yep. It's a total fantasy. But if there continue to be unrepresentative inattentive administrations in the white house blindly pursuing policies which do not pertain or are harmful to the west coast (Enron and Bush's buddy Ken Lay anyone?)it will become a political eventuality. Not within twenty or thirty years, but maybe by the middle of the century.

Why not secede from the USA and join the EU? We’d have to rename it the WU or maybe you’d prefer the USW? but we don’t mind, we’re not parochial. If we could get a few more countries to join us we’d have the rednecks surrounded. “The United States of the World” I like the sound of it. It has a nice ring to it don’t you think? :)

You flaming liberal cry-babies are the ones surrounded. I'm sure plenty of folks would be willing to give you a ride in the back of the pick-up truck do the nearest airport or coast (hope you can swim). You'll just have to move the beer cans around. ;)

I believe Rainman was an Idiot Savant. Only part of this applies to W, and that's completely obvious.

Americans have either become way too busy trying to make ends meet or have become so lazy that they only believe what they see on TV or hear on the radio. Most Americans don't take time to research anything and form their own opinions. They would rather have the likes of Rush Limbaugh or Bill "Shut Up" O'Reilly tell them what to think and believe.

Canada here I come. I wait out the next 4 years somewhere safe like Northern Ontario where the only terrorists are bears and moose.

Or, worse yet, their religious leaders. I'm furious at the churches. Revoke the hell outta their tax exempt status. Oh wait, we can't do that ... or much else, because they control all branches of government.

A lot of stuff that a lot of Americans care deeply about will not even be allowed to be discussed in Congress for the next four years.
