Mark Hammer Link Wray - RIP
Just heard that Link Wray passed away in Copenhagen at the age of 76 or something.

Awww, that is too bad, I wondered what became of him. He had an album out back in the mid 60s titled "Twangy Guitar."

Link Wray and the Wraymen. I have a collection of his tunes around here somewhere.

I saw a lengthy obit piece in the paper today so I imagine there are similar pieces springing up elsewhere.

As for where he's been, I heard an interview with a former musical colleague of his who said that he had spent the recent years in Denmark with a discernibly younger wife, but had played a concert in the US as recently as April of this year.

Wray is creditted with "inventing" the power chord.

I was an old fan. In memorium let us all play a power chord in honor. How about next Sunday afternoon, at 300pmCST all at once. Imagine, hundreds if not thousands across the country, slamming the same power chord at once. Loud and proud, let's make sure he hears and feels it, no matter where Link finds himself to be at that moment.

Let's agree on which power chord will be used.

That'd just about have to be an E, no?

Didn't the Who or Creedence Clearwater do something like that? Or was it a Guiness Book thing in England?
