Very funny WMV video to download (13MB)
For fans of the Simpsons and the Family Guy, last Sunday was like Superbowl Sunday for a football fan... Starting off with the 16th annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode of the Simpsons, the high point of the evening was the 4 minute introduction to the Family Guy, which portrayed Bin Laden as a stand-up comedian. For those of you who missed it, I would nominate this short video as being the funniest 4 minutes and 7 seconds of TV... ever! :)

I donīt think my aunt, or any mother, who lost her son in 9/11 WTC would think is funny. And it shows the decreped depths american media has sunk. They have no intelligent ways of making comedy.
They have no imagination. They make light of a situation which has not been handled properly. They teach the young to shrug responsability and laugh at disasters. heaven forbid someone talks about a blow job or shows some tit on TV, the religious assholes would be up in arms about the decline of morals in america, but it is okay to us Osama bin Laden to make comedy about terrorism and death to americans and use the deaths of 3000 americans as the subtext for some idiot broadcasters attempt at humour.

I agree the US networks need to start saying shit and showing tits more on tv (every other english speaking country gets to). What's so scary about a tit compared to seeing a woman get shot in the face in slow motion? (yes I saw that on the navy csi show).

but family guy still rules.

I did not see that video as making light of the WTC tragedy as you suggested, but rather just the ludricrus idea of presenting bin Laden as a stoned stand-up comedian, a fitting foil for our president who is often presented as a total buffoon. If it is making fun of anything, I believe it would be our country's inability to track him down, despite all of our resources.

From your comments I'd have to assume that you are not familiar with the Family Guy at all; you might want to run it through Google- it is a very irreverant program that primarily makes fun of its censors. There was a segment later in the show with George W. Bush reporting for duty in uniform with his rifle in the early 80's (since he had all but disappeared while in the reserves in the 70's.) In the American Dad episode that followed, the Smith family was sent to Saudi Arabia, showing us a family there who very well could be the bin Ladens.

3000 Americans died in WTC because of the terrorists; 2000 Americans have already died in Iraq, with many more to follow, all because of lies.

So what does your aunt think about your attitude towards her country? I can't remember you ever defending America before... :o

I donīt think making fun of america for not finding bin laden is funny.

I donīt think an ultra conservative, ultra stupid president is funny.

It is sad.

that cartoon lessens the meaning of what bin laden may or may not have done. that is part and parcel of comedy, to lessen the seriousness of the topic....laugh about it, relax about it.

it signals to young and impressionable people that if you are bad, after awhile, society might forget and make jokes. thus obfuscating the meaning of consequences for your actions.

This is a much investigated side effect of watching 2 dimensional TV.
Many studies have shown that within the DAILY average of 3 hours of tv american children watch, they are constantly bombarded with evil and illegal actions which go unpunished. this gives a message that you are not held accountable for your actions.

This is what that idiot promised to do with bin laden, make him accountable, but the idiot president doesnīt care and doesnt live up to his word.

and this is what american kids are being shoveled into their already sugar rotting brains.

The horror of 9/11
Pierre:

I really mean no offense to your aunt, but I found the real horror of 9/11 being our government's kneejerk reaction to the terrorism. Yes, I feel bad about the 3000 people who died, but I also feel bad about the people who have been incarcerated without a trial or any idea why they are being held.

I feel bad about our government's decision that pain and torture is acceptable for our prisoners. Thank god for John McCain and his bill to outlaw such measures because:

#1. the prisoners will say anything to stop the torture, so the intelligence gathered is very questionable.

#2. what comes around goes around, and when our soldiers are captured the enemy will have no excuse to not torture them.

Being able to laugh about something that once was very painful can be a sign that healing has taken place.
