Fender Vibro-Champ footswitch I tried building a simple SPST footswitch for my 1973 Fender Vibro-Champ vibrato control. The only problem: a loud popping noise emitted when going from open to closed circuit. What's the solution? |

A solution would be to use a relay with a 3VDC coil, powered by full-wave rectifying the 6.3VAC heater voltage (+/-3.15VAC) and filtering that with a few hundred mF of capacitor. Seems a little overcomplicated to me, but all I can come up with at the moment. |

Another idea - you might try using a shielded twisted pair, ground the shield at the amp end only and the ground wire at both ends. I know it sounds stupid, but sometimes it works. |
