rackmount FX to amp?
am I the only guy who wants to go guitar-rack FX-old Fender Amp? I can't find any device which will sort the impedance/level issues when going from guitar to TC electronics G-Major then straight into the input of a non FX looped old Fender. Help please...! Do I have to break out a soldering iron yet?

The FX_thing to amp link can be sorted with the FX_thing's output level control.

For the input, I dunno, a guitar-level booster like an old MXR micro-amp?

Hey Vino; Neither of these ideas is necessarily ideal, but just additional "thought" to your dilemma.

1. I use a guitar modeller also, along with some after-market "hot" pickups, at times. I solved my input-overload problem just by making the first device in my chain an older DBX 163X compressor/limiter. The beauty of these things is, not only can they be found on eBay for $40-$50, but they have a front-panel Hi-Z input. (Thats hi-impedance, as in guitar.) And, the input impedance is adjustable through a small screw adjust pot in the back. You don't need to run any compression, and it has an output level control.

I can bang on my guitar as hard as I want and just adjust the output control to a perfect match to my modeler. Its a great guitar-buffer. (And cheap-ish.)

2. Do a Google search for Jensen Transformers. (www.jensen-transformers.com, I believe). They have a great selection of "white-papers", and schematics of all kind of level matching solutions. The down side is most all of them use their (expensive) transformers, but they are one of the best. A Jensen transformer isn't expensive in comparison to the rest of your rig. (Typically, $65 - $100 ea.)

Anyway, just some thoughts. Good luck. ;-)
