| Mitch | Re: Warmoth quality Hey Nathan, I wanted to ask, these mighty mite necks are kinda thick to what I'm used to. I was thinking about buying one, then sanding the back a bit sorta flat to give that U shape. The 80's American Kramer's have a great U shape feel that I cannot find in another neck. The MM necks come with the standard C shape which is OK but not what I really care for. Have you ever reshaped a neck back to your liking? Just curious to ask as Ive done a bit of reshaping to a neck once in the past but damn its lots of work and really got to be careful to get the back shape like you want. Mitch |

heh, I also like the U shaped necks... and yes. I "always" reshape a neck to the U. Actually I make my own necks anymore, now that I have the hang of it. I can carve a neck contour completely in about 15-20 minutes at this point. Takes about 5 to reshape a neck to what I like. I was always a Charvel/Jackson player back inthe day and grew to love that profile. (Wide nut - Large radius - U profile.) I've got one '85 charvel that I kind of use as my reference neck. I also prefer the oil or unfinished necks, and Unfinished Maple Fingerboards (I don't care if they get grungy looking, I just clean them with Lemon Oil at string change time and that keeps them from looking horrid. I usually will just take a surform or rasp to the back of the neck and approximate the profile that I want then use my hand held belt sander and "quickly" smooth the rasp marks, then finish sand it with a 5" random orbit sander. Takes no time at all. Just gotta pay attention to keep things straight along the length of the neck with no low spots. |

| Adams | Thers no gear on any truss rod I've seen? Unless they've come up with something new(very well could be) its just a long threaded rod with a bolt on it. |

| Mr. Anonymous | This device looks cool but I wouldn't want it on my Guitar necks as I'm More the old school type and would rather have the heal or neck adjustment. I wonder why Warmoth is doing this, looks like a gimmick to me??? Most I bet would prefer the old style as opposed to this device ya know. Who know, maybe guys like Steve Vai like these things? What about sweat getting into the hole and rusting the parts or soaking into the wood? Mr. A. |

What about sweat getting into the hole and rusting the parts or soaking into the wood? I've been playing oil finished or unfinished necks for 15 years... no problems. The hole is on the bottom cutaway anyway. I don't recall ever spilling my beer up... I've got an aquaintance that has about 4 of these necks and they work just fine. |

| Adams | Ash is just a cheap, stable hardwood. Thats why Leo Fender starting using it. Its allot cheaper by the board foot than the pre made guitar bodies would lead you to believe. Its cheap because no other industries have much use for it. |
