5751's Has anybody tried 5751's in their Marshall amps ? especially the JCM800 ? |

go ahead try it, shouldn't hurt anything. Lower gain, smoother. Might take the "gonads" out if you stick in too many. |

I only ever use 5751s in the first gain stage of my marshalls, as I like the darker tone Bob mentions. Liam |

| anon | 5751s ... 1. have noticeably lower gain. 2. sound more hi-fi IMO. 3. are more balanced in freq than a 12ax7. |

| Dan | I use a guitar with high output humbuckers. I find that the 5751 is a great tube to use in the first preamp position. |
