Thanks folks! Thanks a lot for leading this n00b aright! I have a bunch of surplus E-lytics that I purchased on the cheap (Electric Goldmine), and I figured if I needed to 'improve' them I could try it by this method. Honestly, I haven't developed good enough ears to hear an appreciable difference between enough stuff to even be concerned, but I figured someone else may be interested in this topic as well. I seem to recall someone on this board asking why on earth is there was a plastic/ceramic cap in parallel with an E-lytic (filter?) cap on some old amp, and the response brought about this thread's topic. |

Hi guys, I was wondering: what happens when the caps are totempoled with resistors across them. The ESR rises, right? I hear a better bass response from stages that are filtered this way. What are your experiences? Jelle |
