hi, doesn't digi-key carry them? They supposedly raised the price on them.

I'll check Digi-key, thanks. For a while Frys was carrying them.

Transatlantic?
Dear John Kelly Brown

All of this is completely off topic. I hope you don't mind.

I saw a circuit of a Transatlantic, and thought that surely must be most peoples dream amp. Dirty Marshall tones with clean Fender tones. I had the feeling that you were trying to go for the brown Fender amp tones judging by the resistor and cap hanging off the treble pot. As Ted Weber now sells those 350K tapered pots, have you tried using one of those pots in your amp?

I dare say at some stage I'll have a go at making a prototype of the Transatlantic, though from all reports it sounds like a winner.

Just out of curiosity, what speaker combination best suited your amp. (open back/closed back, alnico/ceramic?)

I ask this as I once blew a (factory standard) 12" Eminence speaker in a early 80's Concert amp that I owned at the time. I replaced the speaker with a Celestion V30, and to my surprise it didn't have the treble or bass of the original speaker, the amp now had lots of mids, which really didn't work with this amp at all.

Yours Sincerely

Mark Abbott.
