Re: global voltages Chris you didn't ask about Australia I'll tell you anyway! Mine runs from 236 up to 245, Guess it depends upon how much coffee's being brewed at the time! slow. |

I have 124 right now, but it can be something else later. I am in Michigan, in north central USA, surrounded by the great lakes. I expect an average of 120 here. The voltage will be all over the map. It matters what the overall load from the community is, whether the manufacturing plants are working, weather, and even your address. Homes and stores on one branch may see different voltages than on the next branch over. Things like size of distribution wire, who shares your lines, how far from substation, etc affect this. |

Chris West Virginia-Mid Atlantic-USA (Guess you could say "east") Generally 120-121vac although sometimes 119 during peak usage hours. Having my PTs wound for 120. Thought about a 'tap' on one end for 125 for future use but its fairly stable here in power plant central. (I think I recall that my electric comes from about 50 miles away although I have a huge plant within 5 miles that powers a significant part of Ohio & beyond.) Be interesting to see what Richie (Ashland Kentucky)& John Culp (Johnson City Tennessee if I recall correctly) see for a little 'offbeat triangulation' so to speak. Good Luck with the trannies... | danhei | I'm running 123.7 right now in Denver, Colorado with an average probably 122-123. I used live in Texas (completely different grid, I think) and it was usually right around 123. |
