found some of these in the house, and they are approx .090 aluminum. the front and back lip could be nibbled off and a pretty cool chassis can be had for cheap. better than the the bud stuff, IMO.

I've done that.. I was going to make a whole bunch of Tubescreamer pedals and call them the "Hotcake". Somebody beat me to it.. The name that is. No joking!  
 
You know, for under $30.00 you can get a real Hammond steel chassis. A really big one too. With baked enamel.

true, but for proto and messing around aluminum is so much easier to deal with.  
 
the problem i have found with the hammond *(or bud) is the thickness. they arent beefy, IMO.

I've heard from one less-then-satisfied customer that Komboking is having serious trouble keeping up with his orders, and the wait can be months. Anyone care to confirm or contradict?
