Reverb Tranz?
Hi
I'm building a Super reverb . I am uncertain about the hookup. Should the reverb transformer ground be hooked to the PWR Supply ground, or the preamp ground buss.

It would seem to be grounded to the chassis just inside the grommet hole. Look here:

I would try:

a) the grounding point of the filter cap for the B+ node that feeds the reverb tranny & driver, or

b) the point where the cathode resistor for the reverb driver tube is grounded, or

c) a spot on the chassis close to the reverb transformer.

In that order.

Thanks Guys.

I am trying to make a Star Galactic ground in this amp.The pre amp ground is lifted from the The Chassi. The Chassi is only grounded at the first power supply cap. The reverb tranny is hooked to the power tube screen supply after the choke. I am presently using point (b). The point where the cathode for the reverb tube driver goes in the preamp ground buss. that seems like the right place. since it is a magnetic coupled device , hooking it to the screen supply ground doesn't really make since?

Oh wait a minute, I just realized that the ground lead is part of the secondary winding. I really don't think it matters where you attach it because there won't be any current flow from the secondary winding to any other circuitry in the amp. So I would err on the side of keeping the lead short, and just attach it to the ground lug of the reverb send jack. In fact, you could isolate that jack from the chassis and it would still work as long as both secondary leads are attached to it.
