 surge suppressor schematic?
Can anyone tell me where I could find a drawing of a surge suppressor? Thanks, James.

Not sure where you can find a schematic of one.  
 
But you should be able to use an appropriately rated MOV across the hot and neutral of the mains.  
 
Simple surge protection and mains filter would be:  
 
Mains Input --> Fuse --> X Cap --> MOV --> Common Mode Choke --> Y caps --> X Cap --> Mains output to Equipment

Ditto. Usually a 140v MOV, however I use 130v MOVs without any problems also.
