Circuit Board Materials Question about the board material. Is there a board material 1/6" or 1/8" that is common enough to get at a Hardware store or another type of local store?? Thanks!! |

| DD | Perf board from radio shack works well. The only draw back is that it has the "perf board" look to it. But who cares. |

How does plexiglass work? Or some other common material?? (I guess plexi might melt from the soldering gun?) |

| Todd Hepler | Plexiglass as board material Dan - Yes plexi melts from the soldering gun. I also had problems with it cracking from drilling and setting the turrets(I imagine eyelets would be just as bad). For a cheap and easy source of board material try McMasterCarr. The perfboard from Radio shack works good for breadboarding stompbox circuits, but is not good as tagboard or eyelet board. -Todd |

| bob p | afaik, standard plexiglass isn't fire retardent, is it? |

Plexi is not fireproof. I went to that McMaster site. I came up with a fiberglass product using thier search function. |

| DD | Re: Circuit Board Materials Plexiglass releases toxic gases when it melts even slightly. In a closed area the fumes can actually kill you. Use it at your own risk in a situation involving hot tubes. |
