volume pedal i have been looking everywhere to find a good volume pedal schematic what i have now is an old volume pedal off a vintage hammond s series chord organ and i was wondering if anyone would know how to modify it to add power to get it up to level or just how to build a good analog volume pedal without any ic's |

I have an old Boss volume pedal that developed a bad pot. I replaced the pot with an 100K linear taper Allen-Bradley conductive plastic unit, but then the max volume was too low as the entire pot travel was not used, and the pickup loading was too great. I added a simple one FET buffer (mentioned in a previous post here as a pickup buffer), this buffer had a high impedance input and just enough gain to overcome the volume pot loss. The pedal has worked extremely well over the last two years, no problems at all. The high input impedance also helped the guitar sound a lot. The FET buffer was fed directly by the pedal input, and the volume pedal pot adjusted the output of the buffer. |

BTW, here's the link to a buffer schematic similar to the one I used. The volume pedal pot should replace the 51K resistor (R4) on the output of the buffer. http://www.till.com/articles/GuitarPreamp/ |

Do you need to attenuate or just boost? nic |
