Re: Can't exactly print "white", what to do!? there are many options for getting white labels on things. I work at a business that does nothing but laser engraving (http://www.riverlandlaser.com) and if your enclosure is steel or aluminum, you can paint it first and then use the laser to remove the paint in the design that you want for your labels. aluminum usually comes out white, and steel is generally a light gray. just something to think about... andy |

| R.G. | There is a product called "IBFoil" that is a plastic sheet with a micro-thin metallic foil on it. It's intended to give a metallic color to any copied material by heat-fusing the metal layer to the toner on a sheet of copied/laser printed material. You can laser print on decal stock, then iron the IB Foil onto the stock. The metallic foil sticks wherever the toner is. Then you spray lacqer as you would normally for decals. Bingo - silver (or gold, or blue, red, green, even paisley) metallic decals. The other thing you can do is laser print on decal stock in a color laser printer. Still not good for white, but you can get contrasting colors. R.G. |

I am putting together a recording studio right now in Bakersfield,CA. We just partnered a deal with a dye cut decal business...I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. If you aren't familiar with the name, it's vinyl solid color 'stickers' that you often see on car windows. If you are interested in printing some, let me know. |

Check out www.paper-paper.com (i think that's the site again), and they have not only the white decal stock, they have s system wher eyou print on the clear decal stock, then use a special embossing poweder to make white lettering. I tried it myself and it works pretty good. |

Re: How Do You Guys Lable Your FX Boxes? I've tried a few methods... 1. Inkjet print onto adhesive paper. Looks ok but wears poorly and any moisture ruins it (unless you spray with lacquer overtop). 2. Freehand paint. Looks unique. 3. Laser etch through auto lacquer. Check out my Skiltone pedal for an example. I like this best, but it costs about $5 per pedal: http://www.kilback.net/homebrewtweaks/pedals/pedals.htm cheers. Sean |

Thanks for showing that laser etch, Sean. I can't find anyone in Australia who will do it for less than several hundred $ (!!) but, I'll keep trying.. BTW you have a great site there! |
